Took the CL55 to the track.....

I've got an '03 CL55. I Had it on the dyno a few wks back (what a pain in the azz) and decided to make a few passes at our local drag strip. Its 100% stock with 59k on the clock. Anyways, first 3 passes the car was pulling all the way thru (I was using Traction control). The local track only VHT's the first 60' and I was running on stock street tires. I was consistant 13.3's and .4's at 107-108 mph. I took TC off for the 4th pass and it went 14.1 @ 109 mph pretty much spinning into 3rd gear. I made a few more passes and after the 5 pass, the car would shift from 3rd gear into 4th but not accelerate. It was acting like it was in Netural. The last 80' of the track I was decelerating which was odd. Never had it do that before. I was cooling the car down after each pass, so it did not get any "hot laps" per say. Times were 13.5 ~13.6's @ 101-103. The night was cooling down so I was hoping to bust into the 12's with a 110+ mph. Temps were in the upper 70's and I was just mashing the gas, no boost up launch. Just curious if any of you guys have experienced this. Vehicle temps were normal from what I am used too.

Dyno numbers were 381 rwhp and 448 ft lbs tq. Lowever then I expected along with the 1/4 times. I will say our local track is not the greatest (Portland International Raceway)

Correct. Its funny, why would MB use a non serviceable brushed motor pump for such a crucial job? I just don't get it.

Most of the guys here swapped out their IC (intercooler pump). I swapped my out ot the Johnson CM30 pump.
Here is a link to it. http://compare.ebay.com/like/2608062...=sbar&_lwgsi=y

2nd. Link.

Reason why, your car will have good runs and then it will pretty much go in to limp mode to disengage the supercharger so you don't blow up your motor. The stock Bosch pump can't handle it. (I don't know why they MBZ used this pump) I was running in the high deserts here in SoCal and I would smash on the car a couple of times and then, nothing just the way you described what happen to your car. Once I change my pump, no issues at all. I even smash it with the air condition on and not problems what so ever.

Good luck.

I've heard of people using 2 pumps. What size is the stock pump? I been looking for 1 myself.
