Pulled the trigger.

This past weekend I flew up to NY to visit my parents. For those of you who have not been following I was going to get an e55 which my friend who works at Ray Catena offered me. When the e55 arrived, the dealer had forgot to order Xenons which were standard on the 02 e55's. I decided to drive down to NJ to see the e55. Upon arrival I test drove the e55. All I can say is it is one awesome car. The throttle response is unreal, the torque is crazy and its just all around an amazing car. My problem was as petty as it sounds to pay 80k for a car with no nav or Xenons seemed crazy to me. In the back of the prep center there was a black black cl55. The car looked stunning. I drove it and that was basically it. I agonized over it for four hours e55 vs cl55 at the dealer and it came down to do I really need four doors and could I justify a almost 40k difference in price. Well I some how figured a way to rationilize it. I drove the car home that day and tomorrow intercity lines is picking it up at my parents and it should arrive in Miami by the weekend. I did get to put a 100 miles on during the weekend, but I can't wait to get it down here. I will say the e55 was a tad quicker and feels a little more raw but I have a 600hp 996 turbo if I want raw. Not sure if I got a good deal but my dealer gave me a 1000 off msrp. The past few days I have been researching mods for this car... Looks like the 996 TT where the sky is the limit. I will post pics soon as it arrives.

2003 CL55 AMG
Congrats. You can't go wrong with either car (E55 or CL55). Both are great machines. If you don't need the 4 doors, the CL is probably a better choice for you anyhow.

$1000 off MSRP is good. I would say you did fine.

Enjoy the ABC suspension ! It rocks.

great choice and good luck with your new ride.
the CL's in my opinion are the nicest auto's MB makes.

Duane
Congratulations on your choice. The CL55 is truly remarkable and with your 996TT X50+, you have the best of both worlds in terms of cars.

CL55 Price

I got my CL55 at MSRP and SL55 same. They, at Loeber Motors, in Lincolnwood, IL were asking me 10-15 Over and I said "Hell no" and they gave me both for MSRP. Same happend with my Aston Martin Vanquish
