uneven rear tire wear 2004 cl600
okay, maybe somone can help. 2004 cl600 with staggered stock 18" wheels and tires. i've had the car aligned on 3 different occasions over the past 1 1/2 years. the car is pretty much in specs and has 1 adjustment bolt in the front. front tires are wearing evenly. rear tires have always worne faster on the outside tread on both rear tires. i am running michellin 101y 265 40 18's on the rear which is stock. is there anyway to get the rear tires to wear evenly, or is this attributable the stance of the car, or the attributes of the tires. i've spoken to the alignment specialist and was told that that is just the way the car rides. i drive in the high suspension setting and had the car aligned in the same high setting. my rear alignment was rear left camber -1.1, toe 0.15. rear right camber
-0.9, toe 0.26. rear total toe 0.41, thrust angle -0.06.
do these check out. is there any adjustments you would recommend? would adjustment bolts help? the tech says this shouldn't cause wear and it's the best settings he can get.
what's your thoughts. i would say the outside of the tires are wearing about 15% faster than the rest of the tire and the wear is even with no cupping. the tires on the rear are michelin pilot sport ps2 101y.

Why do you drive in the elevated setting? Doing so pushes out the camber. I know that you had it aligned in that position but there might be something else happening. Try setting it to the normal height and see how the tire wear is. Lowering the car down will cause the wheels to slightly negative camber. I don't really know what else to tell you.

Yeah, the high setting is meant for road obstacles only. At highway speed, the car lowers itself for stability. It most likely lowers itself substantially from the highest setting, as you shouldn't be going highway speeds if their are road obstacles. You should get it aligned at the standard/lowest setting and leave it there unless traversing speed bumps or other obstacles.

had the car aligned in spec with low setting on suspension. 2000 miles on the tires and the very outside of both rear wheels are almost completely worn, the rest of the tire has normal wear. tire pressure is 33 psi. acoording to the print out all 4 tires are in spec, but am still wearing on outside of both rear tires badly.
is it possible that there is a different setting if you have staggered wheels? my car is staggered.
actual readings are front left camber -1.3, caster 8.8, toe 0,15, sai 4.8, included angle 3.5. front right camber -1.6, caster 9.1, toe 0.14, sai 5.3, included angle 3.7. front cross camber 0.3, cross caster -0.3, total toe 0.29.
rear left camber -1.2, toe 0.32. rear right camber -1.2, toe 0.34.
rear total toe 0.66, thrust angle -0.01.
any help?

Maybe lower the rear toe. Or try a different tire brand, like the Hankook V12.
Is the tire worn to the cords, or just the sidewall is sloped off? Most new tires are designed to have very little tread on the outsides, and this is generally normal.

the outside of both rear rires are sloped off, but there is absolutely no tread left there. the tires are bald where they sloped off. this only took like 4000 miles and i drive pretty conservatively. never had this problem with other cars.
