2003 CL55 AMG
The discrace I found today.
So my 03 CL55 broke again. It needed to go to shop any way for a service A that was over do but I got A ESP visit work sop light and Check engine light and the throttle stopped working I had AAA tow it home because the shop was closed the day after thanksgiving. So Yesterday I went to move it out of the drive way so it would be easier to get on the truck to tow it to the shop. (It would still idle and move slowly if in gear) so When I started it I let it warm up and a miracle happened no codes no malfunctions car worked fine. So I drove my other car to work canceled the tow and drove it in today. Long story short I think, as crazy as this sounds, an o ring went bad on a transmission sensor and allowed transmission fluid to wick itself through the insoluation of the wire into the (What I would call afuse box) and cause a short. thats only gonna cost me $45. the whole visit is $600. but I m getting a bunch of other prevent stuff done and a Service A.
Any way, While I am farting around the shop with the tech, whom I have became freinds with becasue it is two doors down from my work I notice another Silver CL next to mine same body style. It says V8 Kompressor on the side butit only has one exaust tip on each side, the rear badging looked crooked, It had a wood grain sterring wheel and no AMG seats, it also had the older style buttons on the consule like the pre Kompressor CL's 2000 - 2002. It also had 20" rims and far smaller breaks than mine. So I ask James (the Tech) whos posser car. James says you dont even know the half of it. James tells me that this guy had brought his car in and wanted them to change his instument panel out with another one because he has over 250K on the car and wanted it to show less. So James sent him away and he we took his car to some ghetto shop. They changed the insurment pannel and screwed up a bunch of electronics and now it throws codes like crazy. They also put regular power stering fluid in his ABC abd steerin resvour. So now his ABC is shot. Also the car was in terrible shape all jacked up on the inside windows didn't work right, weather stripping missing stained carpet, worn leather just a freaking joke thats all.

Wow. You can sure do a lot of damage by hiring the willing but unqualified.
Your deal sounds like it worked out great. Kind of a resurrection story for Christmas!

I see horror stories all the time from Indie shops. Funny one tried to fix an ABC problem and had to tow it to us pay the bill and charge the customer like he fixed it himself. I also had a friend of mine take his 07 S600 to do some touch up paint work from a friend of his that worked at a body shop and somehow he dripped paint on the door panel and it stained it. The 2 piece designo door panel costs 3k to replace! and he didn't even ask the guy for the money because he felt bad for him.

Should have snapped a pic, it would have been a nice addition to the AMG posers thread
