Any1 know how to remove the push start gear knob off a 2005 CL55?

Twist the chrome piece at the base, and then just pull up. That's all there is to it.Originally Posted by Hakop

The stock Keyless Go Shift knobs have a two pin connection that seats when you push the shift knob onto the shift rod.
This is how you got power as it is a 12v source for the Keyless shift knob button.

Yes. It also has the red ring light that works just as it does on the SLR Originally Posted by awiner

Hi all,
I've had an SLR gear knob knocking around for ages. It had a broken bit of plastic under the button which I glued and fixed years ago. Is there any interest in this? Something i've been hanging on to for years, but now starting to realise i'm never going to do anything with it!
Please PM.
Steve

Brand New member w/his 1st & ONLY post offering to sell an expensive item is NOT to be trusted.. Forums usually have a 50-100 minimum post count & or certain amount of membership time before said members are allowed to SELL anything.. I think he knows this & possibly why he's keeping under the radar asking for PM's to sell vs his own thread.. (Nothing personal meant, just looking out for fellow members.. We've had far, far, too many scam artists troll our site)

Can anybody confirm that the SLR gear stick will work on the facelift 2010 sl600.

Hi Guys,
Apologies - I haven't been checking the thread over xmas. I've attached a couple of pictures - if you need any more please ask.
I understand it looks a bit dodge - but I'm not sure how else I'd go about selling something like this.
If anybody is interested we could meet in person, I'm based between Bristol and Guildford.
Thanks
Steve

Looks legit, thanks for posting the pictures Steve, what's with the wire coming out of the shifter?

The wires have been soldered to the switch contacts - i'm guessing the last bloke was trying to retrofit also? Looks fairly untouched other than the wires, which have been cable tied/RTV's to the outside of the collar - could all be removed.Originally Posted by mertd93

Ok got it, thanks, yeah they would have to be removed for sure.

Even if you buy this in person you're taking huge risk on being scammed or worse, members have actually been robbed in parking lot/meeting place etc just chk the archives here for the dozens upon dozens of adds like this that turned out to be complete scams.. Brand new members w/1-2 posts aren't to be trusted UNLESS some older longer term member here knows them & vouches for them etc..
The pix are easy to produce, all they have to do is save/steal them from ANY site IE Ebay/Amazon or from an OLD legit for sale add here.. Again if SELLER IS LEGIT? He should start his own thread @ the very least, see if anyone knows him or wait a month or so & build up credibility.. If he needs to sell it ASAP & LEGIT Ebay etc is waiting..
Again if seller is legit? Please take this the right way, I've seen too many scams here & I'm just looking out for fellow enthusiasts

I think that's a bit paranoid
You just take the same precaution when dealing with any Craigslist seller if buying in person with cash- meet in public place like bank or police station with lots of cameras
Or just use PayPal you can dispute if there's a problem and you never get it

Worth it? I can't say yet, never received the part, they said itll arrive in about a week since it's coming from Deutschland. But little stuff like this makes me happy so why not, I'm still young. All I know is the SLR has one of the coolest, if not coolest, shift knobs I've ever seen since it came out. And now so will my CL, or should I say CLR
And I don't know if it will light up red when I flip up the missile launcher cap, but with little things like that you can always find a solution.

Exactly what post #10 says, daddy got himself an SLR shift knob. I went to my local Mercedes-Benz dealer and gave parts guy the VIN of an SLR and asked for the shifter (shifter and boot come as a package and it's part no. 199-260-02-40-9B97 in case anyone else is interested) and $2,628.80 later I got a receipt for an SLR knob

Would this work on a 2007 SL65?
