Carbon Fiber Side Skirt for W215 AMG?
I just wanted to post up the method I used to install the Euroteck W215 carbon fiber side skirt attachments.
You'll notice that the skirts don't come with any instructions and/or hardware.
So here's what I did, and while taking my car on a race circuit, hitting 187 MPH, driving on not so good roads, I can firmly say that these have held on with tight secureness and absolute piece of mind. I hate thinking, "Are these going to fly off" etc..
1. Find a place where you can park your CL and have room to move around and lay down on the floor. You don't want to be cramped up.
2. To install these, the car does not need to be put on a lift. You want to keep the car in the fully raised mode with both LEDs lit up. My car is lowered and still proved to have enough clearance to do the job.
I was originally going to take off both factory side skirts and install the carbon fiber pieces while they were off the car, just to be safe, but it's rather difficult to disassemble the factory skirts. So I just did it while it was on the car.
3. Make sure you clean the under portion of the factory AMG side skirts really well.
4. Then purchase some 3M (or whatever brand you prefer) double sided adhesive tape.
Along the inner most part of the attachments, cut a couple pieces of about an 1" 1/2 - 2" of the double sided and stick the pieces all along the side. Make sure you have some tape in between each pre-cut hole in the attachments.
5. Make sure you have these size washers:

6. And these type and size screws:

I bought all the hardware at my local Home Depot
7. Remove the top part of the double sided tape right before you're ready to put it on.
8. I'd definitely recommend having a friend or someone holding up the other end of the side skirt attachment, while you have the other. You want to make sure it's perfectly aligned all along the side, where the factory skirt has that 'twist' and where each wheel well starts. Once you've decided it's straight, bond the two pieces together and press up hard and hold it for a few seconds. Once it's on there, it should hold softly with just the tape for now.
9. Get your washers and screws ready and drill all the holes in (I believe there were 6 pre-drilled holes on each side if I remember correctly). But don't tighten it all the way. When you start finishing, you should see the gap between the skirt and attachment start closing up once you get towards then last screw.
10. When you get every hole drilled in, go back to each screw and tighten them all manually until it's very tight. You should be able to pull down on them and have them barely budge. A tiny smidge of give is okay.
11. Repeat the same process on the other side.
12. Stand back and adore your car because you have a set of carbon fiber side skirts on the CL, and probably the longest side skirts you can get for a car
I hope this explains it thoroughly enough. You guys will undoubtedly love this add-on and it will just "even out" the car from nearly every angle.

Like an idiot, I somehow managed to place a HUGE stratch with my exacto knife in a hurry to open the package. Luckily, I only cut the part where the bolts will be placed....I know...I nearly punched myself over this.
On the bright side, Zneb is right. These are PERFECT. Quality is absolutely amazing (as always). These skirts are literally 6ft+ long lol.

Can't wait..
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
On the positive side, they do look great, don't they
I'd first like to apologize for the total delay, there were some obviously lack of commuication on my part at the beginning of the group buy as well as a few target deadlines that we missed ie: the first delivery date.
the group buy first started at the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012...
The original final date of Friday January 13th 2012, we received 10 commitments of orders and ordered the factory side skirts.
When we began to processed orders on the January 26th when the factory side skirts arrived we only had 8 sets paid for, even with 2 members purchasing a extra set each.
While we waited for the remaining two orders to be filled we posted on MBworld on 2/3/12 stating that we might open the W215 CL diffusers back up to the public to help fund the side skirt extensions. The price of the rear diffuser would be higher then that of the group buy. It would be unfair to offer the same price as the 10 members who had the faith in us to develop a product.
April 2nd arrive and we are not able to log into MBworld, at this point we still have not received order# 9 or 10. But because payment had been received from the other members we began the process.
4/10/12 arrives and IB is able to unlock our account and we made the following post:
Due to waiting for a few side skirt payments that never came we the beginning of this process was delayed a few weeks, however the skirts are currently in mold process, even though we are still 2 orders short. I have opened up the rear diffuser to help build the interest in the side skirts, as we should have a prototype side skirt within the next 3-4 weeks.
Also for those who are still interested in these skirts, get in NOW! because after this first production run for this group buy, the price is going to be set at $1500 for each pair. We calculated incorrectly on the manufacturing and production of these side skirts but that is not something that should be burden on those who have prepaid.
Yes you can still get in, by purchasing from http://euroteckmotorsports.com/index...t=49&pageid=50
Both the side skirts and the rear diffuser are available online, we actually have 2 sets of rear diffusers in stock.
A rear Diffuser order comes in helping to fund the Side Skirt project.

First prototype photo was posted

3 sets for test fitting we're promised in 3-4 weeks, unfortunately, my fault completely I did not update the group that we would make changes to the mold for the jack locations.
5/26/12
Mold was changed slightly to incorporate the notch of the jack locations, second set of photos were posted with notched jack location.
6/4/12
boxes ordered, measured incorrectly, too short: Everyone will now receive the side skirts in a modified double box. Posted test fit would hopefully be shipped out in a week... once again incorrect information provide by me, was not aware the mold would change a 3rd time, to add more detail.
7/2/12
Posted that we will be shipping out the first batch of test fits, to the first one who purchased, and to one of our trusted dealers to test fit for feedback. Once again my apologizes Kenny, i was simply just going down the list that i was given.
7/6/12
Actual photos of test fit side skirt extensions posted.
7/14/12
Side Skirts arrive to Aldin, and installed photoed posted
8/10/12
Side skirts arrive to the next 4 orders
And finally the last 3 sets should be packaged and shipped out this week! Assuming we do not have any issues with this batch.
As for the 14 pages I read through, I didnt know how sick a thread could get. Some of us over in the 218/9 AMG forums got a bit rough but you guys took it to another level. I liked how some of you guys maintained a cool attitude towards SOME individuals that posted on this thread. But those SOME really need to put water over their fire. Also, the forums is aplace for information on cars (mostly). It is also a place to get together and discuss cars in unison with others out there but more than anything else it is an informative site. Therefore having PROPER grammer and spelling would be greatly appreciated, regardless if some can understand it or not. It makes YOU look bad. And if you have the attitude of "oh I dont care," then I really dont know how you made it into this world/bought a coveted Mercedes Benz. But then again, you may be a drug dealer for all I know.... Your spelling and grammar and they way you claim certain things that, clearly, you cant do makes you seem like a little child.
I havent said any names... just keep that in mind. But if you have a slight IDEA that you may be the person I am talking about, you should be ashamed of yourself for making the CL community, and more importantly, the Mercedes Benz community look bad.
And Ill have to agree with some other people on here, you are a douchebag, and in my opinion, a little b***h.
As for the bickering it seems we have a member that was not part of the group buy that seems to always have a negative input about your company and product. Also with lack of updated and communication, few member including me. We were just a bit anxious with any update you can provide us. And for that we are sorry for the bickering.
Hopefully euroteck will still do group buys. The wait was well worth it as the skirts came out perfect. Thanks again for a great product for us w215 owners. Also everyone should thanks Neal if not for him taking on one last group buy, we won't be having this product.
BIG thanks and two thumbs up for Neal for creating a masterpiece that no other cars will have and a HUGE thanks to Euroteck MS for putting up with the crap that endured almost 4-5 pages.
