SMS / New Info Request
All I can find out so far about SMS is that its "Short Message Service". I used COMAND to send a New Info Request, and got only a message that its not activated.
If it were, what is SMS and what's it good for?

Correct. However, the Info Services Dave speaks of uses SMS as well through the integrated analog TeliAid system. You need to sign-up to the Infoservice package offered by TeliAid however.

I don't think TeleAid Text is available anymore. It is my understanding that MBUSA only offers TeleAid Voice. This is the message received when trying to access TeleAid Text in the 'Owners Online' section of the mbusa.com website:
