Keyless Go

I have a 2003 CL 55 with the Keyless Go option, and 2 keycards, both of which no longer work. Have replaced the batteries, and have gone to the local dealer to have them checked out, and was told the cards are bad.

I was then told the cards are no longer available, and to have them replaced by a key fob, which could then be encoded with the keyless go option by the dealer, so I ordered the key. Only now, the dealer has found out they can't encode the key. Now they are now telling me that the cards are available!!!

Does anybody have information on this?? Are the cards still available?? Can a key be encoded with the Keyless Go??
Thanks for any help in advance.

My guess is the card and key use different technology. The 2003 uses card, the 2004 and up I believe use the key fob. I doubt they would get rid of the cards.

Keyless Go

Well, I just picked up my CL from the dealer after a week in the shop. I had the trunk pump motor & actuator replaced, the ABC accumulator replaced, the rear main seal replaced, and the rear flex disc replaced. This all came to $3600. Lucky I have an extended warranty. They tell me I need brakes, rotors and pads, for $2100. I'll probably take it to another shop and save $500 on the brake job.

As to the Keyless Go, the parts guy tried to charge me another $291 for a Keyless Go card, after selling me a key that they thought could be programmed. I refused, and emailed the owner of the dealership, and next day received a call and apology from the part manager, saying I would receive the card free of charge.
