Car is still for sale and I actually have a few interested in some of the parts. Yeah Jody, the car just sits in the garage and I have the itch for something new. Richard, I think these cars are finding their final resting homes as all your seeing is high mileage ones for sale for $30k-$35k. This car being "too pricey" to fix is where the warranty comes into play- maintence is just part of the game. I'm contemplating just keeping it and having a 10sec daily driver with massaging/AC cooled seats...

My S65 went for $46K with similar mileage. Only mods on my car is the Renntech ECU/TCU and BMC drop in air filters. Looks like a great deal for someone!

How much power difference did you notice between the 825hp package and just an ecu tune?

That's not saying much tbh... I completely obliterated an R8 in my tuned CL55, so I can imagine what a tuned 65 would do. The R8 isn't all that

Beautiful car and yes your extended warranty will cover most/all parts for replacment and you'll only have to pay for maintenance. That's the trick to these cars.

My extended warranty as already covered $20K in parts/labor and all was done at the dealer.

I'm about a year out but a S65 or CL65 is my next car!

The V8 R8 is not all that but the V10 R8 is very quick.

these cars are very reliable--

I will say geographically it does matter...AMGs are better for smooth roads and most cars out of LA or NYC have issues suspension wise I have noted

I dont think they are in anyway a money pit or expensive to repair..i have had enough of them to say this and i have 8 friends who also own AMGs who are happy as clams with the reliability

I have had my CL65 now at over 100k miles and haven't spent any money on the car for repairs since I bought it 35k miles ago..

And I can list the many AMGs I have owned and I drove regularly and all were very reliable and problem free-- and extremely awesome to drive!!

This deal for this car with the 825hp kit is a great price-- you cant go wrong for a GTR killing LUXURY ride with better looks and ride quality to go with it

Though some people would prefer a C63 rental car for more money or a old 996TT that rattles and rides like a 1968 VW bug...oh my people and their choice in cars boggles my mind daily...

Many repair and maint items can be performed at home in spare time. OE parts can be purchased at a discount and most repairs are straight forward. I think the statement about finding the second or third home where they will stay is very true. My RS6 sits in the garage 85 percent of the time, I perform all the maint and the car costs me maybe 600/yr on parts/tires/brakes. Even the expensive 3500 dollar timing belt service every 35k can be performed at home with attention to detail. It costs 600 in OE parts to complete that service. My 03RS6 just turned 40k and I will never sell it. I drive the E55 for a daily driver and other than the gas tank issues it has been more than reliable and plenty fast for a daily rocket.

Its too bad about the rock chips. That can be fixed and this is a clean desert southwest vehicle. Our roads have so much debris and small pebbles that driving at our hwy speeds of 80 to 85 tend to wreak havoc on painted surfaces. A full clear bra should have been applied to such a expensive vehicle. Ditto for the dust under the hood. Its so dusty down here that really is no problem. It will come right off and look pristine after a good proper detail.

The fact that this car still has extended warranty coverage and is a clean SW vehicle should make the sale. The bumper can be painted and hood chips repaired for 500 then just clear bra this bad boy.

Dont lower the price but I would ditch those air filters.

I think these cars have retired from their daily driver lives from those who could afford to buy/lease them new and ended up in the hands of people who really like the car and the concept of 600+ hp from the factory. (my guess the majority of board members) The price hasn't drastically changed on the CLs over the last 3 yrs maybe $2,000-$2,500 per yr. comparing like mile cars. By no means are they an investment. I think these cars will be settling into their third home where they will stay. They will be worked on by the owners and valued for their craftsmanship despite their flaws. Not to say there aren't other powerful cars, but anyone that wanted a W215 would put CL65 at the top of their list. At this point who knows how many low mile cars are left. As far as the SLs of course they will be dropping with another new body style out, its only making the 05-07s look old. Sorry to go off topic, but hopefully the OP can find a home for what the car is worth and if not maybe find a reason to keep it!!!

Thx, chips have been on the car for 3 yrs since purchased. K&n's have been replaced. Don't want to steam clean the engine for fear of water getting into the electronics(but a wipedown should be performed.) Car is for sale at this price til the first week in nov then the reg gets renewed and it will continue to outrun crotch rockets for the winter

Cool

Stock intercoolers back on. Not sure what the hp/rwhp numbers are now, but it still is nasty quick. $40,000 firm takes it.
New brakes all around

Ok, do you have pics with the stock intercoolers on? ECU is programmed for 91 octane gas right?

I have picked up a 993TT which should cure most of my itches.
