TPMS accuracy

Hello, everyone.

It's been a while since I've posted anything here, but life is complicated. I recently noticed that whenever I check and adjust my cold tire pressures, which I like to keep at 36 psi, there is a discrepancy with the car's TPMS reading. For more accuracy, I use a digital tire gauge set to bar units and fill to a reading of 2.50, which is equivalent to 36 psi. The TPMS, however, reads 38 psi per corner immediately after adjusting the pressures and driving a few hundred feet to obtain a reading. Does anyone know if this discrepancy is common? What, if anything, can be done to get a more accurate reading?

I wondered about the readings as well, haven't checked mine as yet. That brings to mind who checks the checker ? When I want to know the time I look at my PC or Cell phone, don't know where to calibrate my tire pressure gage.
My point is, well you get it ! I know ! medical equipment or military grade gage's !
I would just use a few gage's and average them. OH, surely a top line
racing gage would be the tool to use.

I have a W216 and the values reported by TPMS are EXACTLY the same as I get with my digital tire pressure gauge. The tire pressure will go up as you start to drive.

The best way to check for accuracy is to compare readings after you have been driving. The TPMS will continue to report values AFTER you have been driving for a few minutes. Read the tire pressure with a digital tire pressure gauge and then immediately observe the value reported by TPMS while the car is parked.
