various issues with my cl55

Afternoon all, i was hoping i may be able to pick your brains with a few issues i am having with my 2003 cl55 amg kompressor.

The first problem i have is with the parktronic system going into fault everytime i switch it on, so thought it may be the cpu for it. so got a brand new unit for the fraction of the cost on the hope that it may solve it, but does anyone know where the unit is situated in the car?

Second problem i have is with a whine from the engine bay, which changes with engine speed, i thought at first it might be the dreaded abc pump, but after seeing a specialist merc tech, he said it sounded like the air con drive pulley. and that this is common and can change just the pulley, howver his spares department said that for this model i would have to change the whole compressor!!! do you know if this is true?

The third problem is with the engine loosing almost complete power, with no malfunction showing. if i stop the car lock it and then unlock it , it resets and drives fine again, but happens on odd occasions and sometime revs flucatuate all over the place, i hooked it up to a friends diagnostics system and it came up with two faults on, saying open circuit on A & B systems for throttle control. and they wont reset. any ideas?

seems to have all come at once lol. but hoping you may have some thoughts on the above

best regards
Ross

Regards to your parktronic, check to see if one sensor has been pushed in or is misaligned somwhere.

If it's a pulley you can find some alternative aftermarket pulley on amazon or ebay.

Also regards to your car losing power, you need to replace your supercharger intercooler pump.

good luck.

Agree on checking the Parktronic sensors. Before "Hanging" parts on a car to remedy issues it usually helps to properly diagnose the issues. The Mercedes SDS diag computer has a full suite of Parktronic actuations to do this.

As for the pulley/belt noise, try to deglaze the rear of the belt with a bronze or stainless brush.

If that doesn't cure the issue, I would first look at the tensioner as they go out first and have been superseded by at least 2-3 designs since inception.

The car losing power may indeed be the dreaded intercooler pump. Again, BEFORE hanging on parts, diagnose. Start the car and put your hand on the pump. Does it vibrate/buzz? If so, its operating.

The revs jumping all over the place is not indicative of a pump issue. What were the alphanumeric codes that were shown upon dumping the errors?
