AMG Challenge update
I had a great time at Fontana Raceway (San Bernadino County, Calif.) last Friday. It was 105 F on the blacktop, and a little warmer in the vehicles. I ran a CL55 up to 142 on the
2 1/2 mile oval (that was a kick in the pants!). Ran the timed road track .4 over the Pro's fastes time and spun out on my second run (with the EPS on). Overall it was one of the best times I can remember. It you havn't been to a AMG Challenge and you get a chance, do it. It's worth the $850 hands down and I'd go again in a heartbeat. On the large road track I scared the begevvers out of the pro seated next to me (It wasn't my fault the guys ahead of me couldn't get out of the way fast enough, LOL).
Went to a focus group on AMG's that was a hoot and a half too. Reggie Jackson was there talking about his 18,000 sq. ft. garage and some of the 60 cars (many Benz collectors' items) he owns. The group talked a little about the CL65 and the SLR, not much other than that. I ran into one of the guys in my group from the raceway and we had a chance to compare notes, he was hyped too.
Good things coming up for AMG's, stay loyal to AMGs and have fun, relax pull down your pants and slide on the ice.
