Sell your cl500 and get a cl55. You will save your self a lot of time and money. By the time your done with the project you will have more money in it then if you were to buy an authentic cl55.

Ditch the 500 and forget the 55. Go for a 2003+ 600 with the amg body and add a tune. You will have over 600 hp and it will look great. You can get a 2003 600 in the teens to low 20's. For around $5k plus labor, you can have 800 hp according to some of the Speedriven's posts on the forum.

I never noticed any appreciable lag. It produces max torque by 1800 rpm. Drive both and see which one you like best. There is just nothing like the feel of the Mercedes bi-turbo v12. It's the best engine I've ever had.
