Help Diagnosing bad MPG
I have a 2008 G55k (same engine as CL55)
Any ideas how I could diagnose low mpg? I am barely hitting 7MPG in light footed city driving. No check engine light is coming on.
I am thinking maybe its a air filter/injector issue or maybe the ecu is acting wonky. Is there a way to 'reset' the ECU so that it goes back to factory defaults?
Also was thinking perhaps the MAP sensor could be at fault- Not too familiar with these though. Are they similar to MAF's where they can be cleaned?
Thanks

Sounds about right. Your fuel maps are very different than the ones in the other cars with same engine. The g55 compressor is a gas guzzler.
You are also hitting about 12-15 on the highway- correct?

I have an average 11.8MPG in my CL55AMG.
I do mostly short trips with max. 1/2 throttle accelerations through traffic when needed, other than that i mostly roll with traffic. Ohh and thats with AC off. If i put on AC it goes rather about 10MPG.
If i drive in race mode, it can go up to 8.3MPG quite easily.
I thought thats normal. The handbook says here in germany 20L/100km for city driving on average. Thats 11.8MPG.
