My new project Non Mercedes Benz

I am a sucker for mid engine cars. This one is a Porsche 914 on paper but really nothing like the factory car. The PO fabricated a frame and installed
the 996 (2005, 911) front and rear cradle / suspension. It has a 6 speed G-50 trans-axle a LS3 corvette V8. The quality of his fabrications is far above
my pay grade. I have always wanted a car that was basically ground up
well engineered street/track car. Yes its far different than the 65. It will take me the better part of a year to get it running but should come close to a sub 4 second 0 to 60.

In the below picture the arrows point to where the 996 cradle / suspension mates to the custom frame work. I will likely sell the 65 but if I do will always miss it.

I would post that on ls1tech.com brotha. You'll get much more love and appreciation there. Badass project though.

I'm thinking your correct ! I had a 1970 Datsun 510, lowered and set up to carve corners like a hot knife 30 years ago, a 1969 Triumph TR6, a 1966 convertible Corvair with a Chevy 302 in the center of the car and it looked much better than it sounds. A 1993 Mazda Rx7 twin turbo with 400 rwh. Before the 65 I had a 1973 Porsche 914 with a mid mounted SBC that was close to a 4 second 0 to 60 car. Ive had Cadillac and Buick's, BMW's. My point is they are all fun interesting cars as the Mercedes Benz is.
This project should be the best handling and fastest to date, but I enjoy building them and talking shop, exchanging ideas.
