What will happen with values with no more CL class?

Was reading about the new S coupes that I guess will lead to the end of the CL class line going forward. Just curious if anyone has any speculation on what that might do/not do for values for our CL's into the future? They've tanked like a rock for years now but at some point you'd think with the limited production (05/06) and now the demise of the class maybe there will be some collectibility factor. Thoughts?

And yea, I know, these aren't 60's series GTB's so I'm not expecting to see a gold mine out of mine.

2003 CL55
When they get 20-25 years old, then you may see collector values go up. Lot better things to invest in over that period, imo

Steel Grey Metallic C63!!
The CL will further tank in value. Anytime there is a new model release, it greatly affects the previous designs value.

That's why you have to buy 3-4 year old CPO car. I just bought a $158K LIST 2010 CL63 with 18k miles, looks like a new car... IN SERVICE DATE of 8-15-10, that is still under one more year of ORIGINAL New Car warranty, enhanced by One year of CPO warranty from dealer, plus 2 years on me. (Warranty runs thru 8-15-17).

I ALWAYS assume I'm being "had" when I buy a car, so don't really know what I paid versus how much they really gave for my trade (2003 CL55),but I walked away happy. Paperwork says I paid $70k for the car, before all the horse trading with trade ins, extended warranty, etc.

Don't think of it in terms of names or lines but in terms of body. Before it became the CL it was originally in the S class line (as the SEC in MY1980). Now the name has been rolled back into the S class line ... either way it remains Merc's Lux 2 door coupe.

SEC, CL, S Coupe no matter.

love depreciating on these cars! i don't really look at the CL as a collector car as a whole. Designo ones sure, limited ed sure. But agree i think this wont affect the price

GMC - Miata - Trek - P-Car
bump

They’re on the books specifically accounting for their accelerated depreciation in many instances.
