New to the boards. Ex-Audi driver/New MB AMG owner
Hi, my name is James and I just wanted to introduce myself. I just picked up an 03 cl55 amg with 36k mi a month ago. It is the cleanest cl55 mechanically and aesthetically that I was able to come across in the short notice I had to find a new car. The motor on my 03 Audi s8 needed a complete rebuild with valves leaking 70% on cylinders 4-8 and 30% 1-4. My camshaft tensioner snapped and the work that needed to be done was in the 8-10k range not including preventive maintenance that would be done while I was at it. The cost was pretty much what the car was worth so I parted ways and started looking at other cars. I always wanted a cl55 and began looking at them and eventually purchased the one I own now.
I have completed some appearance mods such as lowering links, led/hid lighting and tint. Wheels and carbon lip/difuser will follow this upcoming spring.
I will begin performance modifications shortly here but I am still in the honeymoon stage with the stock performance so I am happy now.
I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to the other members for future reference.
