Bike rack?

Hi, I'm thinking abut maybe getting my CLK upgraded to CL63 but I ride lots of mountain bike and need to be able to take my bike to the trails. Does the CL63 have the roof rail mount points like the CLK or C63?

Thanks!

I Thought they did, but looking more into it I don't think they have the option.

I'm 6'2 so i have a 59CM racing bike and i just take off the wheels (spin clamps) and it all fits perfectly in the trunk of my CL55 with room to spare, i don't think the 63 has a smaller trunk than the 55 but it's going to be biggerthan your CLK i'm sure but i'm not sure how easily your mountain bike wheels come off

The wheels come off easily but the bike is often times quite dirty after few hours in the woods. Try not to ride in wet conditions but many times the tires are packed with mud and the whole bike is covered as well. No way I could put it inside the car
plus I can take my son and his bike along as well

here is a bit of a more cleaner bike after a ride. It gets much worse sometimes

Yeah, i see your point. haha

Does the CLK have roof rail mounts built into it? I rememeber my old E320 coupe had little tabs with screw holes under them for adding roof rails but my CL55 doesnt so i'm not sure how you would go about mounting a roof rack system without drilling into the frame of the roof

Maybe a rack that is mounted to the rear of the car would work? I'm just not sure, don't think I've seen a W215 with a bike rack

yes there are the flaps that hide the roof rail mount points. My wifes 2011 E350 has them as well. I would worry about damaging the car with a trunk rack and would not want to hand 6k bikes on there I think the C63 has the roof mounts, just hate to be choosing the car based on this I was looking at BMW M6 and same deal, no way to carry the bike. Maybe I should buy a used Jeep Wrangler for the bike trips with a hatch in the back
