This module fell out from under my dash on Friday. I stuck it back up under there as shown. First, what does it do and secondly where is it supposed to be attached?

it is not important... just cut it out
So it probably shouldn't have fallen down and hit me in the top of the foot. Should it have one connector attached to it and where is it supposed to be secured?
