Rear tire longevity on these CL (ESP the w215)

Ok obviously if you race or burnout your tires won't last but a few months , but for people who drive normally , how many miles are you getting out of your rear tires ?

I just replaced mine less than 2000 miles ago with some Sumitomo htrzIII and it looks doubtful ill get more than 12-15000 miles out of the rear tires

What kind of rear tires are you guys using and how many miles are you gettin out of them? I'd like to find a tire that lasts at least 30-40000 miles

i'd say that's about right for all tires, less on michelin and other soft tires.

I would be happy with the 12k-15k you are getting. On my CL65 I'm averaging about 8k which IMHO is ridiculous! FWIW I'm currently running the Hankook Evo2. Don't want to hijack your thread just trying to add some perspective.

No that's not a hijack , that's good info, thanks. What brand are you using ? Do you know the wear rating ?

Most performance tires seem to have a wear rating of 140-300. Mine had a 300 originally but it was reduced by the mfgr

I'm sure there's either a tire that last longer OR had a treadwear warranty (my sumitomo have no treadwear warranty ) so we can get new ones prorated if they don't last for the guaranteed mileage

It's absolutely ridiculous we should be paying $500+ for new tires every year or less . Let's do some research on this and I think we can find a tire that either lasts longer or has a warranty so we can get discounted replacements

The only long-lasting tire is one made of hard rubber, and a hard tire belongs on a soccer mom's herd hauler. They have no business on a car with this kind of power.

If you did manage to find something with a 500 treadwear that fit, the ESP would be intervening so often you'd need new rear pads yearly instead of tires. The car would never have any traction.

You have a car with true "supercar" level power being put down through an open differential. You need all the grip you can get, and that comes from a soft rubber compound which also comes with a shorter lifespan. Save the "brick" tires for a Prius!

Actually Michelin super sport tires are running about 5 to 10,000 miles longer now so you can get 15 out of those absolutely fantastic tire. Warranty is 15.
