What in the world is this and where SHOULD it go?

What in the world is this and where SHOULD it go?
Well while investigating my front foglight nonworking issue( yes no bulbs or even pigtail harness for them that I can find yet) I also discovered this just hanging like that
Looks like it could be some type of sensor but frankly I have no idea
This is located drivers side lower front left, just where the lower foglight is
Any suggestions would be welcome
And yes the car had been involved in a light frontal which is why this may be just hanging and no foglight wiring

well guess it not hurting too much then just hanging where it was, will try find a location in mesh grille for it
