Thanks for the info. Alexander Was wondering if ECU or stand alone mechanical centrifugal clutch engaged the blower.

Where did you hear/read this? I only ask because I've heard other people say that they wire their I/C pump to stay on constantly. Suggesting that it is not on constantly. Or am I incorrect and they're referring to it being on before the 3000 RPMs mark?

I monitored mine before getting it mapped by EC. With an LED off the relay for the IC pump.

If you drive around town without using harsh throttle it remains off. I also monitor my intake temperatures and they drop by about 20 degress when the pump engages.

Solid research Alexanderfoti and a good idea too. I wonder if the ECU continues to keep it on after a heatsoak power loss? Think it would make sense to have it running constantly at that point even under light throttle. Did you see any results that may support this? Just curious

Thanks for the input Alex. I'm surprised it's rev/gas controlled instead of temperature.

Seems like there's no thermostat anywhere, which I think it's desirable (cooler = better I guess).

Cooling down 20º from "xº" seems a serious number, I'd think there must be some threshold somewhere?

In an attempt to better understand how it works, I wonder... what if air temp is already on the low side? Will it engage no matter what and, will it cool it further down those 20ºC (~40ºF)?

rgds, Marcelo

Honestly that's been a question of mine and I do find it a little irritating that our cooling systems have no thermostat. It would definitely help. So unless you wire your pump to run with ignition, in the heat your cooling mods are almost pointless if youre sitting because the hotter coolant will just sit in the intercooler unless it has another parameter that allows it do stay on after spirited driving. Also does anyone know if EC had the ability to modify the pump's on/off parameters with their ECU tune?

Hey does anyone have a picture of the self purge nipple on the Bosch 010? Was under the car the other night and filed down both pieces. The part that didn't fit the hose did not have a hole in it. The other plastic piece with a vent I filed it but it didn't fit the hose after or before. Thanks in advance.
