SC Belt rubbing




Has anybody has any issues with the SC belt rubbing on the heater core return pipe that runs underneath the alternator, mine has been rubbing but its an old pipe so not sure if the damage is from an old faulty tensioner.
Also not sure if its rubbing because the old pipe is expanding due to the damage.

I had to replace a couple itmes when my left side tensioner went bad at around 100,000 miles and the drive belt got thrown. One fo them was a air intake tube which got gashed. To this day I am still picking out pieces of shred belt from nooks and crannies.




I also have a new hose as I suspect the hose may be expanding at higher RPM's but I have no way of checking this. I dont think this one is as likely as Mercedes have none in stock in the UK, but I suppose my 180 crank pulley puts it closer to the hose than a stock car.
I will get the hose changed out and will report back. There is a good 30mm clearance with the engine running at idle.
