Is there no way to upgrade the navigation? Should I give up?

Is there no way to upgrade the navigation? Should I give up?
So on a 2002 CL55 there doesn't seem to be much of a way to update or upgrade the navigation at all?
Seeing as how the wood in the car is just one sweeping piece, it is looking more and more difficult. Also, this car has distronic so an even harder wood piece to find with the cut out for a 2003 command unit.
So, if I were to find the correct wood piece and a 2003 command unit would this be possible? I know in 2003 and newer they got a new wiring system so would the facelift style buttons and facelift distronic controls even work or be able to get plugged in?? Or should I give up and buy an S500?
