question about cell phone control module

hi, still have my problem. 2004 cl600. cell phone and also puck when used.the system goes into phone activation mode on screen, but never gets passed that no matter how long i try to access the phone system. it was working flawlessly before. dealer says system is fine. there are no codes present. in my research i found a part called motorola cell phone control module. i am thinking that this module may have gone bad, but again there are no codes or faults present with star c3 diagnostics. do you think i'm on the right track? also if i purchase a used module does anyone know if it's plug and play, or if it has to be adapted to my car. will it do any damage to anything if i replace that module and don't adapt it, or adapt it improperly ie. command radio, cd, navigation?
thanks for any help.

okay, to clarify. i just purchased a mercedes phone module A 220 820 47 85 used. does anyone know if this is the correct module to activate the phone> i know it could also be an antenna problem, but i have navigation and i believe both systems use the same antenna and it's working perfectly and also gives the voice prompts. so i believe it's got to be the phone, bluetooth activation module. problem is i can't find out what module does this. please help.

i ordered A220 820 47 85 has a red warning on it that says " WARNING Once installed this control module contains vehicle specific data. Installation in another vehicle is strictly prohibited. Please refer to service literature for proper service & replacement procedures."
i'm guessing that means that it has to be adapted to my car through star. am i correct?

hi, update. i got the phone antenna A215 820 16 75 and went to install it. took off the trunk lid paneling and there was a space for the antenna, but there was no antenna installed and no wiring for it. however there was the navigation antenna installed on the drivers side of the trunk lid. this is a 2004 cl600 so they must have configured the antenna somewhere else. as i said the phone system was working flawlessly for 4 years since i've owned the car. i tried installing the puck. it did slowly flash the blue light, but the command gave a message ACTIVATING TELEPHONE PLEASE WAIT. this is the same message i have gotten for the last 6 months every time i try to either activate my mercedes phone, or puck in the cradle. this is crazy. no codes and no activation. what could be the problem? any suggestions are welcome. thanks for reading.
the best, harv
