need advice on removing the rear license plate panel
hi, i have some cracks in the rear license plate panel. this is the panel that attaches to the trunk lid and holds the license plate. there are two bolts holding the bracket and like 6 clips. my question is once you remove the two bolts do you use a plastic wedge to try and pry out the panel to disconnect the clips. i'm concerned about damaging the trunk, or is there a way to pop the panel out from the inside of the trunk lining? the repair dvd doesn't cover removal of this part because i assume any competent mechanic can remove this easily. so which do you guys recommend, using the plastic wedge to pry the panel, or is there a way to pop it out from inside the trunk panel. also the bolts screw into a really weird fitting. does anyone know if that fitting is attached to the car, or will it fall off when the bolt is dislodged. thanks for any help as i don't want to ruin anything.
