Hello everyone. I wanted to inquire and see whether anybody got their window tinted after having the common problem of the seals (between the windows) breaking off. Ive heard from some people that the process of heating the tint film might crack the windows as theres air bubbles that form in between the windows when the seal breaks. Anybody knowledgeable about this or have experienced anything similiar to such an issue?
The bubbles have been a problem since 2000 when introduced in the W215. Eventually it will happen no matter what you do to your windows.
Tinting will not cause the windows to crack. Mine have been tinted for 9 years and have experienced temperatures here in So. Cal of 105+ routinely during the summers.
Thank you for your response. I'm not so worried about the window cracking from the weathers temperature but from the temperature of the heatgun they use when applying the tint film on the window. I want to tint my windows but I'm hesitating to for that reason
