Accelerator question

Today I replaced my supercharger pulley bearing. With a torch and press it took me less than an hour.
After I got it all back together I went for a test drive. During the test drive I opted for some spirited driving and when I floored the pedal it began to accelerate and then suddenly dropped off and wouldn't do anything. I coasted back to my driveway and pushing the pedal did nothing. When I put it back in park it seemed to idle a little higher also. I shut the engine off and then restarted it and I haven't had an issue since and has been accelerating fine.
Now, in the past few months I've noticed that my car seems to have some occasional lag and was beginning to think it was the clutch on the SC but now I'm suspicious of the accelerator pedal.
One more thing. My AGM battery is beginning to get a little weak. It's on my to buy list was just waiting till after Christmas. I know our cars get a little glitchy with weak batteries. Could the pedal issue be related?
Thoughts...?

I had a similar experience. Hadn't really thought about it, but I haven't had any pedal glitches since the new battery. Don't put it off, you might cook the alternator.

It is not uncommon for the accelerator pedal to fault. After all it is a TPS sensor of sorts.

5 minute R&R job.

Yeah I'm going to go ahead and order one right after Christmas. I'm having a problem finding the right part number though. There's three different ones I'm finding but all say they don't fit the 55. I'm thinking it's the one ending in 0304. I'll figure it out.

Since it's like a TPS would it have an effect on the way the transmission shifts if it's faulty?

I just went ahead and ordered a new one from a place online. Free shipping and $180.00 for the new Genuine MB part. It was the cheapest I could find. OEdiscountparts dot com.
My new battery will be here Tuesday so I'll advise you all on how it does with a new battery and accelerator pedal.
