I just bought this steering wheel...

when it arrived, I noticed that on the back of the new wheel I just bought where my current paddle shifters are on my oem wheel (CL63) there are shifting buttons.

Before I attempt the swap, does anyone know if the button and paddle cut outs are the same or is there one button shift wheel and a different paddle shift wheel?

By the way if anyone wants to upgrade their CL550 steering wheel for a sportier AMG wheel (black) please PM me as mine is available.

Should be the same size cut out so you can just swap in the paddles.

OK - this is what I found out.

I called the wheel mod guy and he said that the reason the two wheels have a different part # is that the cut outs are indeed slightly different. The button wheel can be slightly modded (hole shape expanded a bit) to accept the paddles but the paddle wheel can't be modded to accept buttons because the hole is too big. The only reason I asked was because I just wanted to trade the buttons onto the oem wheel for the new buyer, not that anyone would ever need to go the button route if they already had paddles.
