Belated introduction and need some help

I have been a member here for years, but don't post much. I purchased a 2005 CL65 about a month ago. I knew it was lacking a lot of power on the test drive, but was a good deal and purchased it. I got it home and fixed multiple boost leaks. All were due to an incompetent mechanic who previously worked on it. I found all the lost power, but am now fixing all the mistakes made by said mechanic. I have a sensor on both banks with hoses feeding them. They are located under the intercoolers and clip to the valve cover. Each one is missing a hose on the back side. My question, what is the name of the sensor, and are the nipples supposed to be vented to atmosphere? Or hooked to something? Right bank
Left bank

There are a lot of hidden vacuum connections on this engine so good that you are checking everything. Yes, both of these are vented to the atmosphere like you show in the pics. The second one, showing a beige nipple end, is the boost control valve-new ones are not that expensive. The first one that is black is a valve for the turbocharger diverter valves.

If I were you, I would put new diverter valves in, test or replace the intercooler water pump and properly bleed the intercooler. If the intercooler temps are high, the engine will cut boost big time. You can jumper the pump relay to test if it is even working.

One thing easily seen in this photo that is good news for you-your ignition coils are almost brand new. The date is 16w25 which indicates 2016 week 25. So your will be good with those. You may want to check ignition transformer and see if this was changed as well.

Good luck with your project!!

Thank you. I will test the transformer. The coils were replaced right before I bought it.

Looks like the ign transformer was replaced the 21st week of 2014.

I ordered bolts to replace all the ones missing. Also have an oring coming to fix a water leak. Other than that, looks to be in good shape. I'm going to build a cold air intake for it next.
