P2187 CEL Smell of Gasoline
For 2009 CL-63 AMG;
I have a CEL with error code P2187. I smell lots of gasoline outside the car. I cleared the code and drove it for about 8 miles. Came home, still smell gasoline. Don't see any leaks on the ground.
I refuse to startup again until I know what to do. Your assistance to this matter is greatly appreciated.

Possibly evaporative control system malfunction. Leak in vacuum lines, canister, gas cap loose?
Check for external leak of one or more fuel injectors.

2009 CL63 AMG (CL55 AMG Kompressor previous vehicle)
09 cl63 gas leak
Wow...mine(2009 CL63 design black w/design porcelain) is at the dealer right now for a big gas leak. The fu.es inside were unbearable. After about a week of leaking behind back seat, it started dripping below driver side rear wheel well. There was an extended warranty, 80k/8yrs for the defective gas tank. The years were 03-09 and 11-13. The said my fuel pump was bad and that was the culprit. $632 parts and labor. I know the parts being recalled were the tank itself.

Well, after dropping the car off to the steamship, it was determined that my fuel assembly in the gas tank was bad. The parts and labor cost me over $1100.
