Red face ESP malfunction with rough idle and no acceleration

Hi , I need help with my 2003 Cl600 w215 and will highly appreciate a detailed response. ESP malfunction visit workshop warning in the dash is on. The car idles rough in the beginning of the start up and then the roughness settles down. If I push the accelerator, it starts to idle rough again. There is no acceleration at all when acceleration pedal is pushed. I pulled out codes and only 'Accelerator pedal sensor voltage low' code came out. I changed the paddle and then the battery (because it was very old and flat) and then the alternator with a used one (from 2002 model which is 150 amp i.e., 30 amps less than my previous 180 amp alternator).
After replacing the alternator, battery red signal appears in the dash (even with a new battery) and stays forever. Could this be due to the lower amp alternator (150 amp)?. Esp along with rough idle and no acceleration problem is still there. Could ESP, no acceleration problem and rough idle problem be related to alternator throwing low voltage signal? Battery reaches 14.6 amp after starting the car as if alternator is working, but whats up with the red battery warning in the dash?
I am desperate for the reply to this post as it has been over 6 months to this problem and my car has been stuck in the parking lot ever since.

Thanks a lot.

2003 CL600
Stuartph, Thanks for the reply. Would it be fine to replace 2003 CL 600 TT alternator with 2002 CL600 alternator? 2002 Cl600 alternator is rated at 150 amps while 2003 CL600 alternator is rated at 180amps . Is the red battery warning illuminated due to lower amp alternator?
