They also seem to want to bash the SLK on the episode, but don't really have many bad things to say about it. Some of their criticisms of MBs are valid, but they seem to downplay MBs strengths and focus on the negative. These guys just can't get themselves to like an MB. They even had a more flattering piece on a Jaguar Crap Series Estate .

However, I have my own bias if I have to pay over 100K. The car should be very exclusive. In this sense, I too, will pick the DB9.

I would defintely pick the DB9 too. I think you are talking about the prior episode. In the latest episode they have the CL65 on the road course by itself and really have nothing nice to say about it.

I dont know what I would pick it definnetly wouldnt be the bentley GT slow and way to heavy looks arnt to great also. The CL65 is very exclsuvie but it looks to similar to other CL's CL500 CL55 Cl600 etc... The DB9 is is nice but still nothin close in terms of acceleration to the CL65 I would probley go for the CL65.

His take off was clearly power braked, you could see the front suspension moving as it held the car. What a twit, I don't understand how MB can let him near a press car given his obvious bias.
Any valid points he had were lost in his obvious bias. Conversely read the August edition of EVO, a Brit publication, it gives the DB9 a hiding for it's lack of performance and handling compared to the SL55. Not that I'm suggesting the CL65 is a better car, having never driven any of the three cars I am not in a position to personally make that judgement.
Clarkson is a boob.

2003 CL55
Clarkson is entertaining, but obviously does not favor MB's so finds fault with whatever is convenient and sounds clever. His launch technique was more amuzing than he intended. The program was entertaining, but certainly not authoritative or especially informative. He was not sour about the Aston, so it is obvoius that his tolerance for flaws is not universal.
My experience with my 2003 CL55 is at odds with his observation about poor MB build quality, as mine has been essentially flawless dynamically, electronically, mechanically and cosmetically in nearly a year-and-a-half. Oh yes, it also would likely outperform his Aston even on a road course, to say nothing about the Bentley GT.

I don't know how many of you that uses to watch his tests but he does them often with bit of humour. Always done that. Not everything in them should be taken 100% seriously.
The test doesn't always cover the primary purpose of the car either and is not always meant to.
It's not like an alround test that covers the whole car like some car mags do.. fx Motortrend and the German Auto Motor & Sport (+ many many more of course).
It's more made like an entertaining program for carlovers I'd say. Not like a real test of the whole car in detail.
