Do we have overrruning in our alternators? C215
Hi, do we have the "free run" "overrunning" in the pulleys of our alternators/generator or not? I have a 2003 CL55 AMG Kompressor.
I have a massive squeaking noise from the main aux belt all the time (not the SC belt!). I thought about the belt tensioner first, but INA the OE for the part says in the manual to check the free run of the alternator/generator first.
I noticed a strong fluctuating Voltage at idle together with a bit rougher running and little shaking here and there, together with continious squeaking. The main belt is feeels also not much tensioned.

More info on overruning tech. Quite common since the 2000s.

The plastic pulleys should definitely be replaced at this age
as well as tensioners
this is considered normal maintenance
see where you are left after changing these maintenance items
