The holidays kinda got in the way of any real progress. Hoping to get some things wrapped up soon and will post some pics soon. Stay tuned.

Did you have any issues with the control panels on the door getting loose? Mine keep popping out on my CL55 and I'd love to know if a solution exists to get them sorted.

This looks amazing. How much did they charge you for the trim job? I have a 2004 CL600 with 19k miles on the clock. Will be using it for my daily so wanted to do this as well.

Very nice work guys, the new wood finish looks great. I have considered doing the same to mine but not sure I can justify the cost.
As for an Android head unit, I got the one in the link below and it works quite well. I am also an old audio buff so the shortcomings in the audio quality on these type units are obvious to me but all around its a good unit. I have had a couple of different types and it seems the line outs are always a bit noisy. Other than that it seems ok. Lots of features, good eq, built in torque pro and gps, steering controls work and its plug and play. Looks almost exactly like the stock unit too and the support is good from this company. They answer questions quickly.
