water in tail light

Hello, one of the tail lights on my 2003 CL55 gets water inside if it rains or if I wash the car the other side is perfectly dry but the passenger side is starting to rust. Every time it rains I dry it out but I want to stop it from entering in the first place I cant figure out where the water is coming in from, any ideas?

I am comparing it to the dry side to see the difference. The photos are how its starting to look, in the first picture the part I draw on is where the water usually sits.

I give up on this problem, I took it apart so many times trying to figure it out I even took apart the other side tail light which is dry and everything is exactly the same but still gets water inside

there is a rubber gasket when you put the light back on the body. it develops a split because of heat and what not. if you put silicone on the split, let it dry a bit before you put it back on, it will solve this problem.

Are you talking about the black foamy gasket that is on the tail light? if thats it then its good I have checked it and also put the one from my other tail light which is dry and water still gets in. tho I did tighten the tail light down a lot yesterday and today when I washed the car very little water got in but still some did get in.

That gasket is basically one time use, I would replace it with a fresh new one.

Bought a brand new gasket from Mercedes and water still gets in, just as I predicted. I got tired of this so I drilled holes at the bottom of the tail light and it drains itself out.
