My CL65 windows don’t line up and the dealership says I need new window regulators

Looking for any shared experiences on this one as I’m starting to get to the end of my rope with the non-stop repairs.

I knew before I bought this 2005 CL65 AMG that I was going to be paying more for the repairs in the long run than what I paid for the car, but even so, DAMN this is an expensive car to maintain.
The latest are the passenger side windows not lining up properly, so that the edge of the front window sticks ever so slightly out past the back side window.
I didn’t notice the problem until AFTER I had the pneumatic vacuum pumps replaced in both doors to fix the soft close and other related problems.
it seems awfully coincidental that after taking my doors apart to fix the pump, my windows suddenly don’t line up, that I have a faulty window regulator and that it’s going to take another $1500 to fix that one side.

So I had 2 questions:
1- Does that seem like a fair price to repair the passenger side window regulator?
2- Does it seems weird that I suddenly have this problem right after taking my door apart?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

‘thanks everyone,

Yes - always the same MB dealership.
I have not found a reliable private shop to handle my CL 65 and it’s seemingly intense complexity.

Window repair

Its a fair price for a Mercedes-Benz dealer, sure. However, it is weird that it happened right after the same area had repairs. Confront them. What part of the states are you in?

I am in Charlotte NC.

I am assuming the pricing is relatively accurate for a dealership.

I just need to adjust my expectations.

Thank you!

Window regs

Just a little networking. Building a relationship with a solid independent mechanic or sniffing out a tech at the dealer that parties on the weekends or has too much child support and needs money on the side...

Hey i am about to go ahead with diagnosing a rear window that not working on mine, but i read something about resetting the windows holding up when right up for 4 seconds and same for down, on all 4 windows, not sure if this has anything to do with your problem it but its a easy thing to try

Maintenance costs on a $120k+ german car, unfortunately, don't depreciate with its current value. Replacing the door latch assembly requires window (and window rail/runner IIRC) removal, the windows being misaligned as a result would not surprise me. If I were you I'd mention this and ask they calibrate the windows using their STAR system, since the issue appearing after a window-out procedure could necessitate it in the first place. To their credit, these cars are low production, and they might not be aware of this.
