Stripped screw
The screw that secures the bearing bracket (5) is stripped and will not tighten. How "screwed" am I?

At worst it would require a new door handle? Not sure what else the bolt screws into. I used to use helicoil inserts to repair striped female threads but not sure if you have the access or if it is worth the effort. Hope it helps.

Here's the culprit:
When the screw is turned the bracket slides in the bearing bracket either tightening or loosening the lock cylinder. Not sure if this can be purchased separately. Found a bracket on Ebay for $12 bucks. Took a couple of hours to swap out but saved at least $300.
