Yoo. After some hard work we installed some dpw 3” cutout’s right about where the cats were located. I’ll post any gains on Wednesday. I run very consistent 11.8’s@117-118mph at Bandimere speedway……typically 8,800 DA (solid .7 -1 second slower than sea level tracks) . My mods are Eurocharged race tune, TCU tune, Hoosier 245/40/18 drag radials, 3” dp’s.
Im really hoping I pick up some mph and get my et’s into the 11.5 territory (my best 60’ is 1.74 so if I can drop that to a high 1.5 I’ll be there) all my other turbo cars had solid gains from adding cutout’s so I’ll let everyone know how it goes.
I'll bet it sounds much meaner with the cut outs. That is my one complaint with my CL65....it's so darn quiet....almost like driving in an electric car when the windows are up. My GLE63S with the rear muffler deleted sounds like a beast. But...I just can't convince myself to cut the stock mufflers off my CL...

Cut the mufflers open and remove baffles until it sounds right. Plasma cutter makes quick work of it. MIG welder stitches it up. Easy peasy. This was done to my E-55 before I owned it. It barked when prodded or on a cold start.

it sounds like a monster with little snails spinning in the background. I know how you feel about not wanting to mess with your CL. You could remove the back half at the mid point and run a straight through 3”. Then you could simply bolt the stock exhaust back up once you’re done. Honestly the 3” with no cat sounds pretty great with the stock muffler but nothing like the open dumps.
