ABC pump noise
Hi there. Anybody know what makes ABC suspension pumps noisy?
The one originally fitted to my car was making a whining sound which gets louder with RPM and is quite wearing on a long drive... not to mention sounding from the outside like you have a broken car.
I bought a job-lot of suspension parts in one order (x4 suspension struts, ECU, accumulator and pump). I replaced my noisy pump with the one from my supplier which was also used but came from a car where the suspension was said to be fully functional.
The replacement pump works but it isn't much quieter than the pump I took off... it may even be just as noisy though it's hard to tell.
I intend to get my original pump reconditioned but I'm worried that whoever does the work will simply fit a seal kit and that may not address the noise issue depending on what causes the noise.
Does anyone have any views on how to make sure the ABC pump operates quietly?
