HELP! - Mercedes-Benz C215 AMG CL 55 Year 2005 - Crazy problem already 6 months
I have crazy problem with my C215 AMG CL 55 that haunts me more then 6 months .
I try to describe the following story as short as I can, and I hope someone had something like that or someone have idea what I should do next.
The problem start when I drive normally and than when I try to move The gear lever from Drive to Reverse the lever was stuck and I can only stay in drive position or to switch off the ignition and then start the car again that I can move The gear lever from d to reverse to Parking.
A few days later the transmission also wouldn't shift from second to third gear and so on.
The car only drove in first and second gear.
Then I took my Xentry scanner to check the problem and I got error P1856 that said typically relates to issues with the electronic shifter module
I took out all the shifter lever include the electronic shifter module and I send it to someone in USA that fix this issues that he said that cause because Problem with disconnection in soldering.
I must mention that after I take out all the gear shifter lever out, the car can start without the electronic shifter module and I can move the gear by hand with the transmission rod under the car.
When the electronic shifter module come back to me after fixed, I return everything back, and the car wont start at all.
Then I got new error code P1912 typically related to the transmission system, specifically the electronic shifter module (EWM - Electronic Selector Module) or the transmission control unit (TCU/EGS).
Then the man that I sent to him to fix the electronic shifter module said that I probably have also problem with TCM - Transmission Conductor Plate that is inside the transmission Gear .
After its not help also, I buy also TCU - Gearbox control Unit that is located in SAM .
After all this process the car didn’t start , and the faults codes P1856 + P1912 disappear and only the car wont start,
There is no ignition at all (not even crank)
I scan again in with Xentry and I got Fault in ETC module that is the TCU module and some error about communication software error - even I change the TCU with another one.
Now the situation is like this:
- The car sometimes start sometimes not . Can be 1 week wont start at all, and then suddenly start.
- Sometines the gear shifter lever release from parking to drive , most of time its stuck in parking and the Solenoid in the shifter lever sometime working when I press on brake, sometimes not.
- For last days, when I press on brake peddle the Solenoid not working at all and not release the shifter at all.
- I replace also the brake stop switch with new original one.
- When I drive last time with the car, when the car start ignition, all the driving I hear from Solenoid the he jump up and down and I hear “click click” ..
- For now the car most of time wont start, and the shifter lever stuck with parking position and don’t release .
Also I add the 2 diagrams of the transmission of my car.
The questions is on diagram 2 of the transmission :
- Does the “stop switch” of the ESP/SPS can Disable the car's ignition?
- After the “stop switch” I have “stop feed voltage supply” that he connected to TCU . Can problem with top feed voltage supply can disable the car's ignition?
- Where is located stop switch” and stop feed voltage supply” in the car? How they looks?
- Does the car can make ignition without the TCU/ electronic shifter module works?
Thanks
Guy

about what you wrote : immobilizer, ignition switch - do you have some diagram that help me to check if that is the problem?
because in the Xentry diagnostic I don't get any fault code about EIS module.

If you google "w215 mercedes replace ignition switch" you'll see a site for lacartech that repairs them.... but I am just guessing.
I don't think anything in the transmission conductor plate would cause the car to not start. I've started mine with the transmission connection plug (the round one) disconnected, and at least one of the TCU plugs unplugged (iirc).
