Coolant flush: easy way or hard way?

Coolant flush: easy way or hard way?
I'm wanting to replace the intercooler pump on my CL55 and while I'm at it, just flush the coolant. I have a vacuum tool I bought for my Audi S4 I used to have that attaches to the radiator/overflow cannister and along with an air compressor, sucks absolutely all the air out of the system after you drain it and places it under vacuum, and when you're ready, you flip a valve and the vacuum sucks fresh fluid into all the nooks and crannies and gets everything.
The reason I ask is, I don't have an air compressor up here and don't know if I want to buy one, or even drive 3 hours round trip to spend a little time with the family, and then bring my air compressor back, which I don't know if I even really have room to store it here. Or, do I just do it the easy way where, after draining the radiator and changing the intercooler pump, just refill with fresh fluid and then run the car with the heat on so it can cycle through the entire system and bleed itself.
