Hello Folks....my driver side soft close mechanism is busted. The repair kit does not help as it is busted from the actuator side. Tried to repair etc but still failed.
Part needed is A215-720-13-35 which is NLA.
Is there some other part that can be used instead...perhaps for a different model.
Those door mechanisms aren't made right now sadly. I got mine for my 55 right after they went out of production and right before they went out of stock. Then the unit on my 65 popped also, lmao. Best bet is ebay, which is also not a very good bet.
I'd guess the actual specific mechanism is the same on the driver/pass side, and probably standard other 00-06 benz models with soft close.. Might have luck cannibalizing a unit off an s500/sl500/etc, Just make sure they have soft close.
