Bluetooth for 04
Hey guys:
I keep reading conflicting material - it's prewired, not prewired, I need puck, I need puck and wiring, etc.
So, I figure it's best to ask here.
I have an 04 CL55...what do I need for Bluetooth? And is it plug-and-play?
Regards,
-Zack

yes it's the one with a tail. No it's not a code entry at startup. They need to hook it up to their star diagnostic machine and tell the car it has a phone system installed.

Sorry Romeo I didn't read your question fully, this is not the same for an 05 the 05s have a completely different system. For your car you need the minimum and it will also require installation and version coding.

You are absolutely correct about the parts. It seems ridiculous though if you factor labor even when I get it wholesale.
The new 3.0 software release on the Iphone adds a robust bluetooth stack. It will include true a2dp 2 channel stereo and will be followed by a plethora of accessories. I anticipate mercedes will even jump in to the frey.
So I will wait and see. Oh yeah, you forgot the .11 cent amplifier lol.
I say we sit back and wait.
Lets talk in June.

what about the argos unit? incartronics sell them. MIne is suppose to ship in a couple weeks.
it seems to be one of the best option using OEM control (steering wheel, address book download etc.) and can be installed in 20 min DIY.
just my .02c.
I ll post a review of the prod once I instal it

If you don't have Bluetooth in the car and want to add it I would go with mObridge. I had Bluetooth and I disabled it be cuase the mObridge supported my BB and the factory one did not. I also now have iPod support and all controls and display work as good if not better than the factory installation. The only thing you may have to do post install is have the feature turned on by a dealership. i did not have to since I substituted factory BT with the mObridge.
