where to buy magnetic abc filter?

Hey guys i read a write up from german shop that mentioned they had over 150k miles on abc systems without failures of any kind and the key was keeping the abc system maintained which included regular flushing of the hydraulic fluid used in the system. Part of this flushing was replacing the abc filter with a magnetic one to catch any particles which may contaminate the pump, lines, struts, valves, etc....

Does anyone know where i can purchase the magnetic filter since i cant seem to find one?

Thumbs down Difficult communications!

Tried buying this on e bay, difficult communications with company. Made an offer to include p and p but no agreement to offer. E bay includes £18 for p and p which I think is far too expensive, they charge same amount for a shock absorber which is much heavier.

very disappointing, product looks good too, will wait and see

Go on ebay and search magnetic transmission filter and choose the size that best fits the recirc tube. You can purchase for around $12 delivered.

Thanks for reply, given up with the German company absolutely dreadful communications from them, excessive postal charges too, do not recommend shame because I think the product is good. Not impressed with e bay either, failing to read e mails properly and not addressing the questions I asked.

Why do you think that a magnetic filter will be helpful to catch aluminum particles ? There have been reports on bursting filters (in particular cheap ones) as well. I believe the stock 3 micron filter from Mercedes does the job quite nicely

I did think of that but are pump components not made in steel rather than aluminium?

Yes, there are some steel parts, but according to the excellent website of Hans Hehl metallic parts are going to the output port of the high pressure pump first - the filter is for obvious reasons on the low pressure side ... and there I believe the updated 3 micron filter will catch them as well.

BTW, I'm German (living in Paris) and I had tried to contact the company as well for a replacement valve block. I never received a reply to my request (written in German). I had contacted a rebuild company in Poland and got excellent (and much cheaper) service there. Not sure if they are still around, but they were really nice to deal with

Redundancy is a good thing when filtering metal particles which, in essence, are like little grenades to the ABC system. I do not trust the filter will catch everything.

Yes still in business, Sebastian at abbes-performance. Very professional service from them. Recommend paying for fast delivery, I was a cheapskate and went for the cheap option and it was very slow to deliver.

Well, bought one of these from Germany and fitted it, leaked like a sieve, waste of money, do not buy. Leaked around the rubber seal between the Perspex parts. Obviously not torqued properly and pressure tested.

now consigned to bin!

this is the magnetic filter from Germany not the seal kit from Poland Which is fine and the company is a joy to deal with
