I want to order Renntech as well, I called my local dealer for information, but they seems can't don't have any information. It looks like they Renntech will sent you a module for the tuning. I was wondering how easy it is to switch back to stock.

Hey bro!,

I wouldnt get this from your dealer....they will charge you a arm and a leg from the install. The Renntech unit comes with a wiring harness that simply plugs right in. When you take your car in for service you simply unplug the unit. Give Mark at Renntech a call and tell him I referred you. Hopefully he will give you a ten percent discount.

Balllllllin! No I have not received my unit yet. I am not in any rush since the weather has been so bad here. I don't use my car as a daily. If you get yours on the road before me let me know how you like it.

$2500 for more boost is way too much. Damn.. The Bmw n54 have tunes a fraction of that price.

I am pretty sure that this also a control unit that lets you toggle through several different settings. From my experience cars like Mercedes AMG are not like a wrx or an Evo where there are a billion tuners. There are only a small amount of AMG tuners that really know these cars. I am sure you can't go wrong with the Renntech since they are one of the top benz tuners. If I wanted to be cheap I would have bought a 4 cylinder Honda. I expect to pay top dollar for all the upgrades with this car.

Renntech tune for the C63 was or still is $2k. This is a *** raping. OE cost me $1k. Which is reasonable.

Exactly. Renntech has always been on the high end for the M156 and for something "similar", you only need to pay a fraction.

Renntech cost more but as said above they've been around longer. In addition, the owner of Renntech work for AMG for several years. I honestly would feel better running their tune since they know a thing or two about AMG cars.

If I was searching for a Tune Renntech would be at the top of my list, especially for MB vehicles.

It seems like Renntech and Weistec is the way to go if you want to build a fast Benz

I currently have a Kleemann tune on my 63 and if I do get a GLA45 to replace the RDX, my money will be either on Kleemann or Weistec.

Look, guys. If you're so worried about warranty voiding, then go Carlsson. They've got a 3 year warranty backing their parts up as well as the car itself. Carlsson as far as I know is the only tuner who Mercedes authorizes to tune their cars and will back their products as well.

Another member pointed out that it only applies to cars located in Europe. U.S. vehicles aren't covered under same warranty. If not true, awesome!

I'm definitely going to get a tune after all the tuners get theirs out and the reviews start flowing.

Everything is very subjective. There are mail in flashes for $50 in other cars and all the way to a few thousand on other cars. The N54 tunes weren't that cheap at first, back in 07 I paid $1400 for the only tune available(Vishnu Procede V1 piggy back), now the tunes are cheaper through terry burger and other tuners but like I said, they weren't that cheap at first

Hey brotha, I just received a UPS delivery alert that Renntech has sent me a package. So I assume any day now. I haven't driven my car in over a month and the weather hasn't been getting better here so I doubt I will get to test the unit anytime soon.

Yes the CEO of AMG said the CLA 45 is capable of doing more, but really, it is already running 26.1 psi of boost out of 2 litres! I am an Engineer so I have to be logical, if you increase boost (which is already insanely high), you risk damaging your internals. The CLA has forged pistons and crankshaft, but it can only take so much heat and pressure. You are going to greatly increase engine wear....AMG = $$ parts.

Additionally, the transmission; Mercedes have said the DCT in the CLA 45 cannot take the same torque as the DCT in SLS AMG (makes sense).

I am just really weary of this....comments appreciated
Your concerns are logical. However, the reality from the tuning side is quite different. Just about every car on the market today is built to much stricter standards than ever before. Today's technology and standards makes these engines capable of handling way more stress than their stock set ups give them. The cars are set up with the worst conditions and owners in mind. As a result, there is allot left on the table.

We have been doing ECU tuning for over 11 years now in the premium market segment. Our software writers are either current factory employees or former ones that know what these engines can take (or not). There are many ECU tuners out there. Some good. Some great, and some not so. Most buy software on the open market and very few write their own.

I can only speak for us. We don't release a tune unless I personally approve it from the performance side and my software writers are confident from the reliability AND maintenance of the factory warranty side. We write the software so that it remains invisible at the dealer level.

We are almost done with our CLA45 work and it is going to be a corker! There is allot left on the table from AMG..... and they will remain reliable.

I hope that answers some of your questions and concerns. PM me if you have any others. I would be happy to answer them and if I don't know the answer, I bet I know someone who does!

UPS dropped off the Renntech Module this morning; however, my car is in the dealer for service. I got one plug which is not indicated in the instruction and I don't know what it was for. Waiting from Renntech for the reply.
