Hi All,

Just a quick introduction to say hi and give a bit of history about us.

We are a UK based tuning and development company, we have always specialised in product development and also customisation and tuning. We have worked with a number of big name tuners over the years on other platforms, however we have been concentrating our own development on the 45AMG platform since its release last year.

Our development started in August 2013 with a visit to Germany to get hands on as soon as the first cars rolled off the production line. As soon as physical vehicles were available here in the UK we extended our fleet to include a second A45 AMG. The hands on time and experience with the M133 platform has allowed us to tailor staged tuning products to meet our exact requirements and goals as well as avoiding the pitfalls involved in tuning a new model and the weaknesses of the oem parts.

Ultimately owing to technical necessity and consumer feedback, a plug and play solution was developed that allows customers a simple yet effective way to make the most out of their vehicle’s hidden performance. This fitted in perfectly with an already ongoing project of Plug and Play Intelligent Tuning Systems scheduled for 2014 launch. Thus iTuning by Rebellion Automotive was born.

Our Stage1 system has now been fitted to over 60 cars in 10 different countries and on average sees gains of somewhere between 40-50 bhp and 60-70lbsft. This system is very easy to fit and is completely plug and play which will take about 15 minutes for a first time user.

Having many happy clients running Stage 1 we had a number of enquiries for Stage 2 and the quest for more power! After extensive testing of various options it was discovered that the turbo is the weak spot on these engines once you start pushing the boundaries. With this in mind it became obvious that a newly designed and strengthened turbo would be needed and the task of matching tuning and the pros and cons of reliability, drivability and performance began.

After 6 months of road testing Stage 2 was finalised. This consists of a Hybrid Turbo and a new Stage 2 matched iTuning plug and play system. Stage 2 sees +80bhp and 118lbsft gains while maintaining everyday drivability.

0-124 MPH is reduced to a supercar rivalling 12.8 Seconds.

Development of products has not stopped there we are revealing more info very soon..

Do you work with Eurocharged in the US? I thought I remember hearing that the Eurocharged tune is just a re-branded Rebellion tune. I picked mine up a couple weeks ago and am loving it so far!

I think out of professional courtesy I will refrain from answering that question directly.....but glad you like it

We certainly have worked with EC on AMG projects here in the UK and are a dealer for C63 AMG tunes etc. However as said in the intro our speciality has always been product design and development and the A45 AMG and CLA45 AMG was a platform we wanted to develop in our own right...this was also of the back of two years of development for a new generation of plug and play tuning solutions for all Turbo petrol and diesel Mercedes Platforms.

The pinnacle of this iTuning program is both the M133 and M157 platforms, aswell as the 45 AMG we also have a successful plug and play system for the 63 Biturbo AMGs....

The M133 45AMG program and iTuning is very much a Rebellion Automotive product and vision and we have made numerous revisions and changes following on from client testing and feedback since Aug 2013...

We certainly felt the best way to support clients is direct offering of products and support and with plug and play systems this is much easier...

We already have three stage 2 cars lined up and are currently this week building a CLA45 Stage 2 for an international client..

Damn turbo replacement for stage 2? That's no fun.. If i was going to upgrade the turbo I would go all out and go for 500 Plus hp

The Hybrid unit is capable of more power so when coupled with Exhaust and intake Mods you will be on the way to 500BHP.

We will post up details of the additional modifications once we have finished testing stages.

We will be running offers for stage 1 soon too !

Apparently so.......

As with all cars there are those that want everything they can have as soon as they can have it...

We simply had to provide a solution for those that wanted it... The turbo features strengthen parts and new wheel geometry as well as increase in compressor size..

We certainly are not pushing stage 2 as a must have..... It is simply for those that don't want to wait!

Matt can you shed some more light on the CLA45's strengths and weaknesses? How much hp do you think engine/tranny can hold?
How much hp can that water/air intercooler take?
What do you think needs improvement?

Certainly, the stock turbo is reliable up to 420bhp, the block will hold much much more.

After stage 2 the charge cooler does get to the limit of its capacity. We have modifications coming for this.

Transmission will hold at least 650nm (479lb/ft).

All of these are what we have found so they are seriously strong cars.

How would you Stage 1 tune respond if paired with an aftermarket exhaust? Would it make use of a better less restrictive exhaust?

Hi,

Yes, the system is adjustable so if you had a lees restrictive exhaust you can adjust for this.

Gains however would be minimal and would more likely help the torque curve rather than additional power.
