CLA AMG rear bumper vent modification
Today I finally finished the job of replacing the cosmetic non use of plastic vent cover. I had visioned what I wanted to accomplish but not sure how it would turn out. I had no idea how much room, where to cut, etc. but I now know and how it will be done. I had spent quite a few hours to perfect this now will be available as a kit I will make with prewire and instructions. There will be cutting involved in two areas and I will provide a template for those who are willing to use a Dremel. This is wired as parking light and brake use. It can also be wired up as parking light and turn signal. You choose how you want it to work. The job came out beautiful. This is how Mercedes should've done it. This was my first CLA rear bumper mod so it took me awhile to do it. Scanning, reshaping, mounting and wiring the leds, etc took around 5 hours. If you are doing the install only, if it's your first time, taking the bumper off or partial removal will take about 15-20 mins. Cutting time and installation time about hour to hour and a half per side.
