CLA45 vs. C63 AMG Coupe vs. CLS550 Coupe
Hey all,
My car was totaled last week, and after quite some research, I've narrowed down my options to 3 options, all MB. I'm buying used, so the difference is 5-10K between them, all within my range.
I've driven them all and they're all great in terms of driving experience. Which do you think gets more attention?
- 2012 CLS550 Coupe
- 2012 C63 AMG Coupe
- 2014 CLA45 AMG

Bigger benz gets most attention and the others look small making look budget for the average eye.
Go for the 2016 CLA45 (for hp and revised tranny). I had a 2014 CLA45 and sold that for the F80M3 due to the tranny. I ended up not liking the F80 also due to the lack of driving feel. Maybe you should also consider a Macan s or C450AMG. The new c class is much improved.

Last-gen C63 coupe looks mean.
CLS550 looks classy.
CLA45 looks boy-racerish.
Now.. at the country club, you'd get most attention with the CLS.
At the local burger joint hangout, the CLA45.
At the strip.. the C63.

Are you looking for just attention? I owned a C63 and a CLS 550(4.7TT) and I driven a CLA 45 when they first came out. Look and search on my user name, my bone stock CLS 550 was quicker and faster than my then stock C63AMG. The stock CLA 45 is the slowest of the bunch(noticeably).

CLS550. I'd also suggest checking out an E550 Coupe (for the price of a 2012 CLS550 you can get a facelift E550 Coupe).

I've had a CLS 550 and a CLA45. Have not had a C63, so cannot comment on that. But I will tell you that for pure fun, I would definitely go with the CLA 45. I thought the CLS had a much bigger feel, and was not as fast as the CLA45. I also felt the CLA45 handled better. Now it really depends on what your looking for...the CLS may or may not get you more attention, but if you are looking for a very fun, sharp handling, borderline race car then go with the CLA45. I will mention that I used to do some racing in SCCA, and maybe the racer is talking right now, but I would much rather take the CLA45 on a track than the CLS.
