A45 AMG my first drive & few pics :)
wasnt able to find place for A45 so posted this here
OK, as I had before C63, Megane 250 CUP, those fast hatches is something what I really like, today had a local sales for testing one of those pocket rockets
what to say ? I was really surprised from the sound as also from the power as for 2l 4 cyl engine, really big thumbs up for the AMG for that, handling precise as knife, but for sure not so funny as my Meg 250 CUP
and beside me & me mate car

Very nice indeed !!!
Great to see they've done a nice job with all the small details like the shaped and intergrated quad exhaust tips - very nice touch
I can't wait to get my chance to drive one of these babies, we won't get them here in Australia until next year but luckily we get all the variants so we have the choice of the 4 door CLA sedan or hatch, hatch would be my choice as it's the apex performer of the range
It already has established itself with truly benchmark setting performance stock standard, but with some tuning as I'm sure there's plenty of scope for it, this little A Class AMG is going to be truly epic !

Sorry to be a killjoy........but I just can't get past 3 things.
1. To see a transverse I4 turbo under the hood of an AMG is strange. I expect to see "V-tec" on the plastic cover.
2. What on earth were they thinking with that horrible wing on the A45?
3. Wish it was more of an AWD car than "it can send up to 50% to the rear wheels" scenario. Heck I wish it was a RWD car.
I'm sure they'll sell a bunch, the power they're getting from that little 2Liter is impressive for sure.

IMHO it's about time MB/AMG adopted it, it adds rather than detracting from their range and choice/s for everybody, the AWD set up sending up to 50% to the rear wheels and operating in FWD the rest of the time is perfect for achieving the best balance of performance tractability and efficiency, there's no way it could achieve the performance it has with RWD only and no way it could achieve the efficiency it does if it were constant AWD, looks like MB/AMG know exactly what they're doing and again that AWD set up is not new it's a tried and proven formula with other marks.
BTW that wing on the back is not standard, I too don't like it - looks like an option unless its been added via other means but with those things it's always a case of each to their own, look at all the other AMG's or even black series AMG's out there with ridiculous looking big wings on the back of them LOL.
Only bad comment I've got on this vehicle is the wait period for anyone who wants one, in some markets it can be over a 1 year wait

I only agree with you on the second point. That wing is awful on the car. Is too Hondaish. For a minute I thought I was looking at a CTR. But I'm excited about the new powertrain options. Another thing that I don't like is that the A45 is not available in the US. It should, along with the CLA45.

I also feel what your saying above about not all variants being available that too is a shame that in some markets you don't get all the choices on offer, the A45 variant is the top performer of the 2 so far, it has measurably better handling and performance compared with the CLA45.
